Sue
Frause is a working freelance journalist and
photographer. Her travel features and photographs are published in The Everett
Herald, Seattle magazine and The Province (Vancouver, BC) and other Can-West publications
on a regular basis. She’s also written for the Seattle Weekly, Seattle
Post-Intelligencer, The Oregonian, Northwest Travel magazine, VIA magazine and
Alaska Airlines magazine.
Sue has
written features and personality profiles for Washington Law & Politics,
Seattle University’s SUN magazine and Washington Athletic Club magazine. Book
credits include Sasquatch Books Northwest Best Places and The Good
Food Guide to Oregon and Washington.
She was also
an award-winning columnist for The South Whidbey Record from 1988 to 2003,
receiving honors on the national level from the National Newspaper Association
for column writing and the National Federation of Press Women for travel
writing. She is a media board member of the Washington News Council.
Since 1994, Sue has been a weekly on-air
correspondent for KSER 90.7FM public radio in Lynnwood, Washington. She is also
on the boards of South Whidbey Community School and Langley Parks &
Recreation Board and is a member of Island Arts Council and the Ester Moe Lodge
of the Daughters of Norway. She is frequently an emcee at local fundraising
events and auctions.
Born in Arlington, Washington, Sue attended
Seattle University and traveled and lived in Europe before moving to South
Whidbey with her husband Bob. They reside in Langley on a three-acre farm where
they tend to their chickens, turkeys, garden and their very own field of
dreams. When not meeting deadlines, Sue enjoys travel, theater, baseball, jazz,
fine food, heavenly spas and good friends. And tiptoeing through the tulips.
